teamLab

Crystal Fireworks

2017-2019, Shanghai, Foshan, Wuhan, China

teamLab brought “teamLab Crystal FIreworks”- their first large outdoor art installation in China. The founder of teamLab, Toshiyuki INOKO participated in the on-site creation. The art installation was 14  meters high, and created by three-dimensional LED technology which created 30 independent fireworks effects that demonstrated vivid “fireworks” effects, with powerful and stunning visual impression. Participants could connect the installation with their mobile devices and choose their favorite effects.

Through over one year of preliminary planning and three months of communication and installation, the teamLab Crystal  Fireworks was finally presented perfectly to the public, and attracted a large amount of visitors with praises.
The founder of K.D.Art, Qi ZHU was the curator of the touring exhibitions in China.

Collectif Scale

HULAHOOP

2024, Pekin, China

K.D.Art curated Collectif Scale’s debut of their new art piece, Hulahoop, in Asia at the 2024 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival

Although light has been central to Collectif Scale’s work for years, Hulahoop is their first installation that employs solely kinetic movements to carry out its narrative. At the center of the work is a wooden ring, which is duplicated and then animated

Though built on the same technological base as Flux, Hulahoop offers us a very different kinetic show. The eyes of the viewers are aligned with the lines forged by the installation. Scale aims to make us forget about the presence of technology by a raw and sensitive work

Jiacheng FENG

Hua Chuan Ting Yu Mian

2024, Pekin, China

K.D.Art curated “Hua Chuan Ting Yu Mian” for FENG Jiacheng, a Chinese new media artist, to dazzle the 2024 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival

Hua Chuan Ting Yu Mian is one of FENG’s very early works. Beijing is a water-scarce city, and there have been very few waterborne light artworks in China. Introducing an art installation themed in Jiangnan’s water towns, known in Chinese as “Shui Xiang”, to a water-scarce city will for sure whip up some magic ripples. We hope to offer city residents a ticket to the poems and colors of Jiangnan through this art installation

Drawing inspiration from the lines in Wei Zhuang’s They All Say Jiangnan is Heaven on Earth to the Tune of Pu Sa Man that “More appealing to the eyes the virid spring waters than the blue heavens, you’d enjoy taking a nap in the color-painted boats while listening to the rains (Hua Chuan Ting Yu Mian)”, it incorporates and blends the sky, the river, the water, the boat, the rain and the people to create the picturesque impression of Jiangnan. “Textures” on the boats come from women’s clothing in Luzhi Town, batik, tie-dye, flagstone pavers, roof tiles, roof eaves, and other elements local to Jiangnan to “paint the boats”, presenting a poetic and romantic picture of Jiangnan

WE LAND

2022-2023, Guangzhou&Shenyang, China

K.D.Art and K11 joined forces to present “We Land”, Cyril Lancelin’s solo exhibition.

It paves the multi-dimensional access to reality and fantasy and builds up the mirroring borderlines between the two worlds with geometrical representations of abstract architectures

This exhibition marks a critical catalog of the artist’s digital, spatial, and artistic representations by presenting a dozen signature series of installations and digital artworks in Cyril’s career. “We Land” is the digital dimension of technologies and an artistic simulation, like a kaleidoscope erected in a multi-dimensional world, through which you will see the collision of reality and imagination and a realm of aesthetics and fantasies. Built right on the line between reality and the digital world, “We Land”, as the name implies, is an exhibition home to an array of dimensions, invites the audience to explore the art horizon behind digital fantasies and ignites the conceptualization for future social spaces

The exhibition was on tour from K11, Guangzhou in 2022 to K11, Shenyang in 2023

Pyramid Wave

2022, Fuzhou, China

K.D.Art curated the grand opening exhibition for Fuzhou MixC by inviting a world-renowned architect and sculptor, Cyril Lancelin, to create the bespoke Pyramid Wave art series

We have explored approaches to deconstruct water to harvest aesthetics and the philosophy of “there’s a universe embedded in the water”, attempting to refine the spiritual culture touched by Fuzhou and Fuzhou MixC and to reach an artistic highland through deconstruction, the simple molecular geometry of H2O and the deciphering of the impact of water on social culture, ecosystem, and environment. We set out from the deconstruction of water and return to the nature of water, just as what’s explained in I-Ching: “The Heaven shapes the Origin, that then gives birth to Water, and Water is the maker of all lives” and the eastern philosophy of “All lives shall return to water” to form a closed-loop train of thoughts. This collection is located on the blessed grounds of Fuzhou, where the Fuzhou MixC stands

UFO Media Lab

Time Peeling ²

2022, Chengdu, China

K.D.Art and Chengdu MixC presented “Time Peeling2”, a new media art installation by UFO Media Lab, in the MixC Public Plaza, Chengdu MixC, which was on exhibit till July 10, 2022. The Time Peeling2 collection reconsiders and resets the relationships between display and construct, space, city, and the public – display as shell and core

The Cube cut through by space is scattered across the field, eroded and stained by time, surrendering itself after being peeled layer by layer and revealing what is hidden inside – a multi-dimensional space etched into the shell expecting acceptance and deciphering.

Playmodes

Cluster

2021, Guangzhou, China

Future Cluster curated by K.D.Art features Playmodes, a top new media art studio that created permanent immersive shows for Gaudi architectures, to present a future world that has never been imagined ever before in K11, Guangzhou.

Cluster is an immersive audiovisual site-specific installation that explores relationships between space, time, and perception. Geometric schematization of architecture using light instruments transforms the space into a container for the abstract language of light and sound.

Cluster researches the possibilities of oscillator banks applied to the control of light and sound. By specifying values of parameters which define the behavior in space and time of transversal waves, a set of video textures is generated. The resulting image is then pixel-mapped to a group of digital LED bars attached to columns in the architectural space.

Atelier COLOGNE&Jay CHOU

2019, Shanghai, China

Atelier Cologne and TMall Super Brand Day jointly organized a Perfume Launch Conference in Shanghai, and invited Jay Chou - one of the most famous Chinese singers, also Atelier Cologne’s first spokesperson in the mainland,  to present an art cross-border conference.

The scent is invisible and the melody is phase-less, but in the moment we perceive, we can sketch out the specific image and story in our minds, and seek the synesthesia in the creation. This is the starting point of Qi and SCALE to present LED installation - Ammonite in this conference. Lights changes with the melody, bringing the ultimate romantic feelings at the scene.
The founder of K.D.Art, Qi ZHU was the curator of the project.

Tsai & Yoshikawa takes the possession of the spaces with an inspiration to happiness, passion and love. Theirs artworks incline together in all respects to create the concept of love. The pieces are loving in its every perspective and the imagery depicted goes beyond portraiture in any case, beautifully soft and sultry composition.

As part of the campaign, we teamed up with the artists Tsai & Yoshikawa and brought to the public  ‘LOVE AT HEARTBEAT’ , a large-scale public art installation and ‘INFINITY LOVE’, an interactive artwork that blended perfectly with the long corridor space and mirrored ceiling.
