Vincent Leroy

Vincent Leroy is a parisian based French artist.

Born and brought up in rural Normandy, at an early age he developed a taste for experimention using the odds and sods of everyday life as his building material. After a technical training, he moved to Paris where he studied industrial design. During his studies he produced his first kinetic works. These were immediately spotted and exhibited in various Parisian galleries & museums. After graduation he collaborated as a designer with various companies and architects and also set up his own artistic studio in Paris.

Hybrid, Vincent Leroy’s work oscillates between the real and the virtual, the natural and the artificial, drawing its inspiration from both nature, which often sites his work, and from the digital world.

Whether its kinetic sculptures, immersive installations or monumental works, movement is almost always Vincent Leroy’s raw material. The kind of movement that inspires life, amazement, and a permanently shifting viewpoint. A movement that the artist likes to slow down, revealing fluidity, and flexibility, uncovering and magnifying the hidden gaps that often remain unnoticed in today’s frenetic race for speed and performance. Through his choice of rhythm, the artist proposes a shift in the way of seeing and observing.

Vincent Leroy’s works have been exhibited all over the world and the artist has collaborated with many prestigious brands (Rémy Martin, Hermès, Iris Van Herpen, Nike, Saint Laurent, Cartier, Coachella…).

Molecular Cloud is a kinetic sculpture by French artist Vincent Leroy. The work draws inspiration from cosmic molecular formations, translating them into a floating, cloud-like structure suspended within the urban setting.
The installation consists of large mirrored spheres tinted in glossy pink. These elements reflect the surrounding environment, sky, buildings, and passersby, creating a constantly shifting interplay of light and form. Slowly, the spheres move in relation to one another, generating fluid and changing compositions. The motion suggests organic breathing, achieved through a calibrated balance between geometric structure and mechanical precision.

The project was originally conceived by the artist in Paris and first presented in California at the Coachella Festival in 2023. The piece is part of DDP Design & Art in Seoul, whose 2025 edition explores the theme of movement. By combining reflective material, kinetic engineering, and spatial placement, Vincent Leroy’s Molecular Cloud explores the intersection of sculpture, architecture, and environment. Its slow movements invite observation and pause within the pace of the city, encouraging an experience of space defined as much by stillness as by motion.

French artist vincent leroy has designed the ‘slow lens’ installation, proposing its placement in front of the louvre, in paris. the reflective lens piece turns slowly in a loop, distorting the museum’s facade.
The artwork ‘Slow Lens’ by vincent leroy, is a essentially a curtain of lenses that moves constantly around itself. the materiality and the detailed design of the piece make it look light and fluid, almost volatile, while the movement appears effortless. the lenses break down the appearance of the city, by warping the look of the iconic city landmark. the installation generates a visual effect of repetitive distortion, captivating the visitors’ attention.
